For that reason, Makro decided to adequate the branches of MENDOZA, SAN JUAN AND NEUQUEN for the LEED EBOM certification (existing Buildings), as a way to strengthen its environmental commitment and reaffirm the efforts they made in recent years.

The new Makro office sector installations has a reduction in energy consumption through several high, medium, and low cost investment measures.
Reduction in water consumption was achieved through the installation of flow reducers and changes of sanitary appliances, and also changing old fittings for new ones with greater efficiency.

Makro Pilar is a branch of the MAKRO Wholesale Supermarkets, located in the Pilar district, province of Buenos Aires.
This Makro building has 82,000 sqft, with a ground floor and 1 upper floor.

MAKRO constantly focuses on building a sustainable and distinctive workspace. The variety of sustainable characteristics led the building to obtain the EDGE Design certification and is now in the process of a LEED New Construction certification, and a second and new EDGE under construction certificate.

The project obtained its first EDGE certificate in 2017 with a reduction in Energy of 28.90%, 57.37% in water and 37.27% in the use of materials.

Location: Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Arcos Dorados, the largest McDonald's franchise in the world, made an impact in the business sector by inaugurating an ecological location in the Buenos Aires town of Pilar in 2010, where a wind turbine, a water reuse system and conscious drinking water consumption concepts were installed, in addition to the use of renewable and recycled materials, plus regionalized production practices.

After twelve months, the project obtained the GBCI confirmation of the LEED New Construction certificate, reaching the GOLD level, one of the highest levels within the certification scale.
Among the main achievements to get such award was the demonstration of an energy saving of 22.6% and drinking water consumption of 45%.

Location: Salta, Salta, Argentina.

The MAKRO SALTA project consists of an NC (New Construction) building in Salta, Argentina.
The project focuses on the development of a distinctive and sustainable design to create an emblematic building in the area. The building will have a ground level and 1 office floor.

The general design objectives for this sustainable building includes a set of new measures related to the sustainable planning of the site taking into account the environment, the rational use of water, responsible selection of materials, resource conservation and waste management.

Location: Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The MAKRO BENAVIDEZ project consists of an NC (New Construction) building in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Focusing on the LEED certification process, this new construction aims to reduce energy use, water consumption and improve indoor air quality by showing commitment to environmental and sustainable design.
Regional materials, recycled materials, alternative transport policy, LED lighting technology, and use of high efficiency equipment will be part of the project scope.
